Easter Colors... I always think of eggs in soft pastels, bright yellow peeps and deep chocolate brown bunnies!
I've made this card for AAA Cards: Game #36 Easter Colors.
I knew that I wanted to use my Etched Easter Eggs dies by PTI so I went to their website looking for some ideas. A card by Laura Bassen caught my eye and this is my version.
I started by applying Distress ink to heavy cardstock and then applied the egg die cuts over top with a strong matte glue. I then cut the eggs out and left them to dry under a heavy book for a while so they would stay flat.
Meanwhile I took a "stems" stamp from a rarely used set in my stash and inked it up with Simon Smoke ink to create the design on the bottom of the card... I wanted it to resemble a basket (ish). The eggs were then mounted in a row, some flat, some with a bit of dimension.
I knew that I wanted to maintain the white space at the top of the card so the sentiment, also from the Etched Easter Eggs set, was going to have to go over the bottom portion of the card...my trusty buddy vellum made it easy and the Liquid Platinum embossing powder was just the perfect color.
I'm very pleased with the results of my labors... love those colorful eggs!
