This Little Owl Says Love You!

Every now and again all the right inspirations hit me all at the right time... doesn't happen often but it does happen and it happened this time!

I started out making this card for AAA Cards Game #38, A Hole In My Card... and then it struck me that the colors required for CAS Colours & Sketches #123 were just perfect for the design in Sahara Sand, Soft Suede & Tangerine Tango!

My idea was to have a little owl peaking out from his front door in a tree. I don't have any tree stamps that are "card" sized so I used the Hardwood background stamp by SU to create my tree.

My owl is from the PTI set called Polka Dot Parade #11 and he thankfully has matching dies to cut him out.

My sentiment is a combination of the owl's belly and a die-cut "you" from Stampin' Up's Hello You Thinlits set.

I like how the card turned out overall... I wish though that I had had that tree stamp I was trying to create... I'm not completely happy with the way that part looks.

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully it's not cold and snowing where you are today :)

  1. Really cute - I love owls on cards and you used some really fun colours. Thanks for sharing at AAA Cards and be sure to check us out tomorrow for our Birthday blog hop! Jill

  2. Aw, he's so cute peeping out of his hole. Great use of the CC&S colours. Thanks for playing.

  3. Love what you've done with the CC&S colours Stephanie. They do seem to suggest animal interpretations but I didn't think of that when I picked them! Stef x

  4. This is a really sweet card the tree effect and your peeping owl!

P.S. Regarding your last sentence - holy cow - are you still getting snow in Wyoming?!?

    1. Hi Patricia, yes you read it right. We got several inches of snow and ice over the Mother's Day weekend. It was 70 degrees yesterday and today we're back to 49 degrees with rain... It's Spring time in Wyoming :)
