Rockin' The iPhone

Good Morning Friends! It's Tuesday again and we're speeding toward a 3-day holiday weekend!

Today's card was created for the Crafting When We Can Challenge #94, One For The Kids.

I thought about this one for a while and then had a look at all of my favorite places for inspiration... a local Stampin' Up demo here in Cheyenne posted a card similar to this last fall and I thought it would be the perfect one to CASE for this challenge!

What teen... or adult these days... can stand to be away from their cell phone for too long?

My daughter claims that she has to keep hers by her all the time because she might miss something... well, you can't miss the messages on this little, pink i-phone!

The base of this card is cut to 3" X 11" and then scored at the normal 5 1/2". The white layer is 2 3/4" X 5 1/4" and then the "screen is 2 1/2" X 4". I wanted to include the measurements because these are so fun to make, can be made in any color and the little bubbles can be any size/configuration and say whatever you want them to say for whatever occasion your card is for! ~ Even my teens loved it!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Coredinations Foundations in Baby Pink Pearl; Neenah Solar White 80#; Smokey Shadow (PTI)
Dies & Cutting - Word Bubbles Framelits (SU); Project Life Corner Rounder
Stamps - Birdcage2Stamp (TSoL); Sentiment Sampler and Birthday Buddies (PS); Year 3 (LF)
Inks - Island Indigo Marker (SU); Slate, Audrey Blue, Doll Pink & Coral Reef (SSS)

Someone Who Changes Everything

Oh my goodness, it's finally Friday and I am so ready for the weekend! I intend to do a whole lot of crafting this weekend because there is... get ready for it... SNOW in the forecast! I could really cry right now but I won't because ugly weather is the perfect excuse to stay home and get inky!

Speaking of, I've created this card for the Crafting When We Can Challenge #93, For A Couple.

I started with a panel of Stampin' Up's Irresistibly Yours DSP in a star pattern. I added some Distress inks and then broke out Lawn Fawn's Whale You Be Mine stamps and dies to create my little whales who have now met and and completely fallen for one another :)

My sentiment is a stamp that I purchased at Hobby Lobby... short simple and so true!

I see this card as a cute little congrats to a couple that has just become engaged or maybe for the happy couple at their rehearsal dinner? Either way I've fallen in love with this sweet duo... now I have to find some special people to give it to!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Barbie is a Party Girl!

Today is my first foray into challenges with Crafting When We Can and I've completed a card for their current challenge, #92 Sing Me A Song.

The song I chose to build a card for is Barbie Girl by Aqua... not sure why... I just picked up this Julie Nutting stamp set and the lyrics started in my head!

I stenciled the background in festive colors using Distress inks and then stamped my sentiment over top.

"Barbie" has been done in PrismaColor pencils and Gamsol with a bit of white gel pen for design.

Believe it or not this is the first person stamp I've ever purchased and it was sitting in my new stamps basket waiting to be inked up... how fortuitous!

Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you tomorrow for the monthly PTI Blog Hop!
