My Precious...

Hello Everyone!

It's Wednesday and CASology started a new challenge yesterday...Week 158: Precious.

Now, there are few things on this earth cuter or more precious than a new baby and as I've recently had a new niece, I decided to make a baby girl card!

I kept this one super simple and I like the way it came out.

A clean, white card base with a background of little watercolor look dots in Blushing Bride by Stampin' Up.

A tiny pink banner proclaiming Welcome!

And for my precious little baby, I used PTI's Polka Dot Parade #4 stamp set. The pram is done in Cobblestone and Sparrow while the baby and little bow is Cotton Candy, all by Simon Says.

Addicted to CAS: Banners

Good Afternoon All! It's been one heck of a weekend but the good news is, my mother's dog is home with her where it belongs and the trip was mostly uneventful.

Today I'm playing in a challenge that I haven't in a while but Addicted to CAS I've missed you! This week's challenge is #69: Banners.

A CASE of a Debby Hughes card, I started with a base of Stamper's Select white cardstock and a plain panel of Bazzil's Rock Candy.

I then used the Project Life Card Die set to create 5 little banners from papers included in the Authentique paper pad, Latest & Greatest.

Finaly, I cut some more of the white with a Sizzix label die and stamped a sentiment from SU's Lovely Amazing You in Versafine Black Onyx.

The label piece looked a bit bare so I punched a little heart and added a basic rhinestone to the center just to jazz it up a bit!

Snippets and Wishes

Good Morning!

I've dropped in this morning so share the card I made for the Less Is More Challenge #234, Recipe. This week's recipe is to use "Snippets".

I'll be honest with you... I had to Google it :)

Once I figured out that Snippets are paper scraps, I was able to dig through my scrap box and find some great little pieces to create this project!

I began with a panel of Icy Mint cardstock by Bazzil and used my Cloud die set by Joy Craft to cut the clouds out.

The scraps I found are all from a 6X6 paper pad by Fancy Pants called Park Bench. Many of the designs in that pack have colors similar to the Icy Mint and the almost Off White of the Bazzil Marshmallow used to make the card base, so they worked beautifully for this design.

The sentiment on this card is from a Stampin' Up set called Lovely Amazing You and is stamped with the Hero Arts Ombre ink pad, Pool to Navy. I then finished off the design with just 3 little Sparkling Clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

There you have it... I made a Snippets card and I love it!

Why Hello Darling ~

Good Morning Firends and Welcome back to Wyoming where it's looking like it's going to be a beauty of a day!

This morning's card was created for CASology's Challenge Week 156: LINE.

I feel like I cheated on this one... I used my Swoosh stamp set from PTI and that's about it... Okay, there's a little more...

My card base for this one is the usual white made with Bazzil's Marshmallow. On to that a panel of Gumball... and then I stamped in White Staz-On and added some SU Basic Rhinestones... and that really is it.

Despite how easy it was create, I really like this design. I don't know that I've ever made another card as clean and simple as this one is and the contrast of the white ink on the blue background is very appealing to me... kind of like clouds in the sky.

Speaking of, I'm going to go out and enjoy my day now and I hope you all do the same!

RELAX… at the Beach!

Good Morning Everyone! It’s another dreary day here in Wyoming and I’m just about done with the rain and cold these days… it’s really having an impact on my disposition! Luckily I only have to work until noon today so that’s helping me feel better!

Today’s card was created for the Less Is More Challenge#233: Life’s A Beach!

Rather than go into just exactly how I made it here in writing, I’ll let you watch the video and see the whole thing, start to finish!

Icing On The Cupcake!

Good Friday Morning All! YAY ~ It's Friday!

I have a huge busy weekend ahead but wanted to drop in this morning to share the card I made for CASology's Challenge Week 155: Cupcake!

This fabulous little cupcake stamp comes from a fairly new set by Dee's Artsy Impressions through Stamplorations. Dee has 4 sets out now... I was lucky enough to win the first one, bought this one, the second set, and the newest 2 are on their way to me as I post this!

They're very cute and versatile sets... and the newest of them is on sale right now!

To make my little card I cut an A2 card base of white and rounded the bottom corners. To this I added a panel of Blueberry Sky (PTI) with rounded corners and then finally a panel of Harvest Gold (PTI), cut out with pierced rectangle dies by Spellbinders.

I stamped my little cake on white cardstock, colored it in with Copics and then fussy cut it to the edge. I then stamped the outline image once again where I wanted it to be on the card front and popped the cut out over top.

The sentiment is a wood mount stamp by Stampendous called You're the Icing... I used my Stamp a Jig to make sure I got it straight and centered on the card.

And that's all there was to it... I'm hungry!

To A Classic

Good Morning Everyone!

It's been a busy week so far but I wanted to drop in this morning and share the card I made for this week's Less Is More Challenge Week 232 - One Layer... with a Masculine theme.

I started with a card base of Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock and cut a mask with a Sizzix label die. The negative space I placed over the card and inked it in with Simon Says Fog ink.

Once the mask was removed, I used Stampin' Up's Guy Greetings stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink to create the image of a classic car and the sentiment as well.

Every time I make a one layer card I say it's the most simple card I've made to date... this could be it...

Let's Get Together

Good Afternoon Everyone... or evening for some... Lord I am behind the 8-ball again!

I'm here this afternoon to introduce the card I made for CASology's Challenge Week 154: Repeat... and there's nothing I like to repeat more in a day than a good cup of coffee!

I found this cute little stamp at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and thought, "That's Perfect!".

I stamped 3 rows of my little coffee cups two in PTI's Deep Chocolate and one in Classic Kraft along with the sentiment which is from PTI's mini coffee set.

I rounded one corner of the front panel and mounted it on a card base of PTI's Fine Linen cardstock.

Cute, simple and definitely a repeating pattern!

I'm going to cut it pretty short tonight but I'll be back tomorrow with 2 more new cards and then on Monday with something very special you won't want to miss!

Good Morning Everyone! It's Friday and a Holiday Weekend to boot; I hope you all have wonderful plans for the 4th!

I'm stopping in this morning to share my card for CASology's Challenge Week 153: POP!

Now when I think "POP" I think lollipop, Ice Cream Pop, the pop of a cork, Pop Music, Pop Goes the Weasel... do you think I had one stamp to go with any of that? Nope!

So I'm improvising.... again :)

I used a stamp set from way back deep in my stash called Dot Flourishes by Inkadinkado and stamped a bright, Doll Pink flourish that sort of reminds me of a pink champagne fountain. I livened up my Pink pop with a bit of Fruit Punch Stickles for just a touch of bling!

My sentiment, to go along with the whole Champagne theme, comes from a set by Sweet Stamp Shop. I'm not sure of the intended name and I can't seem to find it in their shop now so I'm going to call it Cheers!

I finished up by rounding 2 corners with my SU Project Life corner rounder and then mounted the panel onto a card base made of Doll Pink cardstock by Simon Says.

Quick, simple and my improv version of POP!

Good Monday Morning Friends!

I'm popping in this morning to share my creation for CASology's Challenge, Week 150: Graduation!

I kept this one pretty simple and started with a white card base. On to that I added a strip of dark grey Smokey Shadow by Papertrey Ink and stars stamped in VersaMark.

The larger stars were die cut with my SU stacking set in black and white glitter papers.

The sentiment is done with a PTI stamp and die set called Wonderful Words: Congrats. I did the die cut in white and covered it with Glossy Accents... though you can't see it in the picture. I waited about 2 hours and tried to stamp the "you did it" in VersaMark so that I could heat emboss it in white but the powder was sticking to the stars on the background... so I brushed it all off and created a little banner for that part stamped in the Smokey Shadow ink.

Thankful for You

Good Morning Everyone!

It's 9:30 am here in Wyoming and it's shaping up to be a spectacular day!

I'm just stopping in this morning to share with you the card that I made for the Addicted to CAS: Challenge #65 Butterfly!

I'm really liking this card  and the fabulous Rich Razzleberry color by Stampin' Up.

I used Stampin' Up cardstock for the base of the card and then added some SU DSP under the butterfly die cut.

The butterfly die is part of a Sizzix Triplit set by Stephanie Barnard and it worked just perfect for this design. I love how it cuts the little antenna too!

My top layer of Stamper's Select cardstock by PTI was textured with SU's Decorative Dots folder and the little banner is a die by LaLa Land Crafts that cuts and scores folded banners... and then last but not least, the sentiment is from SU's Sheltering Tree set and stamped in the same Rich Razzleberry ink.

A fun, summery card for this glorious day! Hope yours is just as wonderful!

Story Time!

Hello All! Welcome back for my last post of the day... I promise :)

This final card was made for CASology's Challenge Week 148: Story.

As far back as I can remember, my Grandma spent every afternoon in her sewing room where there was a little TV set up specifically so that she could watch her stories.

At the time I was very young and thought soap opras were incredibly boring... and I still do but I made this card to honor all those wonderful afternoons with my Grandma!

I started with a card base of Soft Stone by PTI and then used one their Mini Sets, Polka Dot Parade #3 and it's matching dies to stamp and cut the television.

The tiny hearts were made with SU's Confetti Hearts punch and the banner was created with some letter stickers by The Paper Studio because once again, in all my many stamp sets, there was nothing about a story anywhere! ~ I may have to give some thought to how I'm buying stamp sets!

Oh My Gosh! I made it through a whole week with blog posts every single day! I'm so proud of me! The curse has been lifted!

Okay, now on to my card which was created for the CAS on Sunday Challenge #59: Tic Tac Toe. I chose to go with Embossing-Stitches-Off The Edge.

I started by cutting a center panel with a set of Spellbinders dies that put a faux stitched edge around the resulting rectangle. I then stamped my tree trunk just a bit off the edge of the panel.

The foliage of the tree was stamped in a mixture of VersaMark and dye ink in green and then clear embossed.

The tiny little sentiment comes from the Garden of Life stamp set by PTI.

I chose to mount my stamped, stitched and embossed panel onto a card base of Surf Blue by Simon Says to simulate a blue sky.

Nice and simple, meets all the requirements... perfect!

Nuts For You!

Hello Friends! Guess What?! It's Friday and I'm posting a card! If you follow my blog at all, you know that's a big deal these days :)

This cute squirrel card was made for Addicted to CAS's Challenge #64: Animal.

I started out with a panel of Classic Kraft cardstock that I put into a Darice embossing folder that impressed a tree into the paper.

My cute little nut lover was created with PTI's mini set called Nuts for You. I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him in with Copics... he's a red squirrel!

My sentiment has been heat embossed in white on a band of dark chocolate cardstock which I also used to ground Mr. Nuts.

The idea for this card came from one I saw in the Papertrey Ink gallery... by one of their design team I'm pretty sure.

I'm happy with how this one came out... I love my little animal, the only thing I wish I'd done is remove the white from around the edges... it just sort of looks out of place.

You're Simply Wonderful

Good Morning! Can you believe it's Thursday already?!

Today's card is a little "heavier" than normal and was created for Less Is More's Challenge #225: Use Some Metal.

Have you ever been somewhere and seen something you just had to get because you knew you were going to need it soon? That's what happened to me at Lowe's last week... I saw these cool little 1/4" strips of brass and aluminum and I thought, "I'm going to make something out of these"... and then today's challenge was announced and I knew what I had to do!

I took my little metal strips and embossed them with regular embossing folders and my Cuttlebug machine. The aluminum worked better than the brass but I like the look of having them both on the card.

The rest of the design I completed in blue stripes, stamps by PTI. The sentiment is from a Sale-a-Bration set from Stampin' Up called Simply Wonderful.

Once the front panel was completed... oh, I found that mini glue dots worked the best to adhere the metal strips to the paper; I mounted the panel on a card base made of Blueberry Sky cardstock by PTI.

From Sad to Glad Wishes

Good Morning Everyone! I did it! It's Thursday and I'm posting a card! My dry spell through the end of the week has finally ended.

Today's card was made for CASology's Challenge for Week #147 - Wedding.

I must have 100 stamp sets or more and can you believe not one of them is a wedding theme?!

Then I remembered that the Everything Eleanor set by Stampin' Up is listed in the wedding section of the current catalog... so I went searching for wedding cards made with the set... I have that one :)

I didn't find a wedding card that I liked but I did find a sympathy card by "Just-add-Ink" that I thought was pretty cool so I decided to CASE it and turn it into a wedding card.

The card is all silver and white with lots of embossing, both dry and heat... there's a lot going on but there's still quite a bit of white space so I think it still qualifies as CAS...? I'm going with it!

Hello, Sunshine!

Good Morning Friends! It's Wednesday and I'm resolved not to let this week get away from me after today like it usually does... we'll see!

This morning's card was created for the Less Is More Challenge #224: Hello Sunshine... wow, I didn't stray off that one much did I? :)

I made the sunflowers with a set from PTI and colored them with 2 separate Simon Says ink colors in Sunshine and Burnt Orange.

I was going to cover the center of the flowers in Glossy Accents but changed my mind at the last minute and went with Distress Stickles in Tarnished Brass... Mistake! I thought I wanted some glitter in there but it was Ugly!

So I went back to the Wink of Stella and Glossy finish like I originally planned... Make cards and learn!

The sentiment for this project is from 2 different PTI mini sets... I like their mini sets... good stuff for $5.00!
