My Precious...

Hello Everyone!

It's Wednesday and CASology started a new challenge yesterday...Week 158: Precious.

Now, there are few things on this earth cuter or more precious than a new baby and as I've recently had a new niece, I decided to make a baby girl card!

I kept this one super simple and I like the way it came out.

A clean, white card base with a background of little watercolor look dots in Blushing Bride by Stampin' Up.

A tiny pink banner proclaiming Welcome!

And for my precious little baby, I used PTI's Polka Dot Parade #4 stamp set. The pram is done in Cobblestone and Sparrow while the baby and little bow is Cotton Candy, all by Simon Says.

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Hello, Hello All!

A quick post this morning to share the card I made for the newest CASology Cue Week 157: WINGS!

I, Like I'm sure the majority of us do, have a ton of bird and butterfly stamps and sets but I wanted to do something differently this time. So I broke out a stamp set I received recently from a drawing on YouTube!

I added a little Broken China Distress ink "watercolor" painting to create my sky and a little sentiment by PTI to finish it all off.

A cute and simple little card... it would only have taken a few minutes if not for allowing the water to dry and fussy cutting the airplane... pretty proud of that one :)

Why Hello Darling ~

Good Morning Firends and Welcome back to Wyoming where it's looking like it's going to be a beauty of a day!

This morning's card was created for CASology's Challenge Week 156: LINE.

I feel like I cheated on this one... I used my Swoosh stamp set from PTI and that's about it... Okay, there's a little more...

My card base for this one is the usual white made with Bazzil's Marshmallow. On to that a panel of Gumball... and then I stamped in White Staz-On and added some SU Basic Rhinestones... and that really is it.

Despite how easy it was create, I really like this design. I don't know that I've ever made another card as clean and simple as this one is and the contrast of the white ink on the blue background is very appealing to me... kind of like clouds in the sky.

Speaking of, I'm going to go out and enjoy my day now and I hope you all do the same!

Icing On The Cupcake!

Good Friday Morning All! YAY ~ It's Friday!

I have a huge busy weekend ahead but wanted to drop in this morning to share the card I made for CASology's Challenge Week 155: Cupcake!

This fabulous little cupcake stamp comes from a fairly new set by Dee's Artsy Impressions through Stamplorations. Dee has 4 sets out now... I was lucky enough to win the first one, bought this one, the second set, and the newest 2 are on their way to me as I post this!

They're very cute and versatile sets... and the newest of them is on sale right now!

To make my little card I cut an A2 card base of white and rounded the bottom corners. To this I added a panel of Blueberry Sky (PTI) with rounded corners and then finally a panel of Harvest Gold (PTI), cut out with pierced rectangle dies by Spellbinders.

I stamped my little cake on white cardstock, colored it in with Copics and then fussy cut it to the edge. I then stamped the outline image once again where I wanted it to be on the card front and popped the cut out over top.

The sentiment is a wood mount stamp by Stampendous called You're the Icing... I used my Stamp a Jig to make sure I got it straight and centered on the card.

And that's all there was to it... I'm hungry!

Let's Get Together

Good Afternoon Everyone... or evening for some... Lord I am behind the 8-ball again!

I'm here this afternoon to introduce the card I made for CASology's Challenge Week 154: Repeat... and there's nothing I like to repeat more in a day than a good cup of coffee!

I found this cute little stamp at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and thought, "That's Perfect!".

I stamped 3 rows of my little coffee cups two in PTI's Deep Chocolate and one in Classic Kraft along with the sentiment which is from PTI's mini coffee set.

I rounded one corner of the front panel and mounted it on a card base of PTI's Fine Linen cardstock.

Cute, simple and definitely a repeating pattern!

I'm going to cut it pretty short tonight but I'll be back tomorrow with 2 more new cards and then on Monday with something very special you won't want to miss!

Good Morning Everyone! It's Friday and a Holiday Weekend to boot; I hope you all have wonderful plans for the 4th!

I'm stopping in this morning to share my card for CASology's Challenge Week 153: POP!

Now when I think "POP" I think lollipop, Ice Cream Pop, the pop of a cork, Pop Music, Pop Goes the Weasel... do you think I had one stamp to go with any of that? Nope!

So I'm improvising.... again :)

I used a stamp set from way back deep in my stash called Dot Flourishes by Inkadinkado and stamped a bright, Doll Pink flourish that sort of reminds me of a pink champagne fountain. I livened up my Pink pop with a bit of Fruit Punch Stickles for just a touch of bling!

My sentiment, to go along with the whole Champagne theme, comes from a set by Sweet Stamp Shop. I'm not sure of the intended name and I can't seem to find it in their shop now so I'm going to call it Cheers!

I finished up by rounding 2 corners with my SU Project Life corner rounder and then mounted the panel onto a card base made of Doll Pink cardstock by Simon Says.

Quick, simple and my improv version of POP!

Good Monday Morning Friends!

I'm popping in this morning to share my creation for CASology's Challenge, Week 150: Graduation!

I kept this one pretty simple and started with a white card base. On to that I added a strip of dark grey Smokey Shadow by Papertrey Ink and stars stamped in VersaMark.

The larger stars were die cut with my SU stacking set in black and white glitter papers.

The sentiment is done with a PTI stamp and die set called Wonderful Words: Congrats. I did the die cut in white and covered it with Glossy Accents... though you can't see it in the picture. I waited about 2 hours and tried to stamp the "you did it" in VersaMark so that I could heat emboss it in white but the powder was sticking to the stars on the background... so I brushed it all off and created a little banner for that part stamped in the Smokey Shadow ink.

Story Time!

Hello All! Welcome back for my last post of the day... I promise :)

This final card was made for CASology's Challenge Week 148: Story.

As far back as I can remember, my Grandma spent every afternoon in her sewing room where there was a little TV set up specifically so that she could watch her stories.

At the time I was very young and thought soap opras were incredibly boring... and I still do but I made this card to honor all those wonderful afternoons with my Grandma!

I started with a card base of Soft Stone by PTI and then used one their Mini Sets, Polka Dot Parade #3 and it's matching dies to stamp and cut the television.

The tiny hearts were made with SU's Confetti Hearts punch and the banner was created with some letter stickers by The Paper Studio because once again, in all my many stamp sets, there was nothing about a story anywhere! ~ I may have to give some thought to how I'm buying stamp sets!

From Sad to Glad Wishes

Good Morning Everyone! I did it! It's Thursday and I'm posting a card! My dry spell through the end of the week has finally ended.

Today's card was made for CASology's Challenge for Week #147 - Wedding.

I must have 100 stamp sets or more and can you believe not one of them is a wedding theme?!

Then I remembered that the Everything Eleanor set by Stampin' Up is listed in the wedding section of the current catalog... so I went searching for wedding cards made with the set... I have that one :)

I didn't find a wedding card that I liked but I did find a sympathy card by "Just-add-Ink" that I thought was pretty cool so I decided to CASE it and turn it into a wedding card.

The card is all silver and white with lots of embossing, both dry and heat... there's a lot going on but there's still quite a bit of white space so I think it still qualifies as CAS...? I'm going with it!

A Friend Knows Your Song

I don't know what it is about the end of the work week but it always seems to get away from me these days!

With that and not having as much time as I would have liked to have, I've combined a couple of this week's challenges into one card which I would like to present to you today...

CASology's challenge for this week was a card with a music theme. That was proving to be a bit difficult for me as I had no "music" type stamps. So I decided to carve one myself.

I created the lines with Super Stripes by PTI and then carved the treble clef myself from some Speed Ball rubber material... I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and now I have some cool ideas to use it again!

The sentiment is from a stamp set that I bought quite a while back and no longer have the packaging for so I'm not sure where it came from...

The whole deal looked a little tonal and barren when all was in pace so I decided a little glitter heart covered in Glossy Accents was in order to finish it off!

So, I'm entering this beauty into CASology's Week 146: Music and into CAS(E) this Sketch #123 which is where my lay-out came from.

A Sea of Stars to Say Congrats!

There seems to be a lot of people around me these days doing some pretty amazing things so I've needed lots of Congratulations type cards!

I made this one for a friend but also for two different card challenges this week...

This card will be entered into the  Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #185 and also into the CASology Challenge #145: Shape.

I was looking at the FMS sketch, trying to figure out what to do with it when I decided that I wanted to texture the background. Once I brought out SU's Stars embossing folder, it all fell into place from there.
As this card is for a gentleman, I kept the colors to shades of blue... even the glitter paper doesn't look all that girly with the metallic vellum over top! I think he's going to like it!

Wishing You A Lovely Day

Good morning! It's amazing how fast a week can fly by isn't it? And I have been sadly absent...

I'm back now though and with a new card for not one but two challenges!

This card was made for CAS Colours & Sketches #122 The Double. This was a double challenge requiring both certain colors and a sketch!

I created my wavy lines with a solid stripe stamp made of polymer that I mounted on my stamp press in a wavy pattern. This wave was stamped in the 3 required colors; Calypso Coral, Island Indigo & Wisteria Wonder.

Next I used a Szzix & Hero Arts stamp and die set to create my little dragonflies in all 3 colors and mount them along the wave.

Lastly, the sentiment is from a mini stamp set by PTI called Signature Series: Butterfly.

As I was looking at my finished card it occurred to me that it was also a wonderful entry for CASology's Week #144: Flight and that is the second challenge this card will be entered into!

Lots of Cards for Lots of Challenges!

Good Sunday Morning to everyone!

Today I have 3 cards to share with you for 3 different challenges. So without further ado, here they are in no particular order :)

I made this card for CASology's Week 143 Challenge: Ombre. I have to admit though... I did cheat a little bit... I have wanted the Hero Arts Ombre ink pads since I saw them used by Jennifer McGuire a while back and then I walked into my local Hobby Lobby and there they were! At $9.99 each, I decided I would only get one until I knew they were going to be something I would use... got the rest of them yesterday evening! If you like the Ombre look... these ink pads are a must-have!

This card was made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge #209 - White on White Die Cuts with a Pop of Color. I chose to use the PTI set Boy Basics: Frog Hop. I cut the matching die several times from white cardstock and adhered them to a white card base. My "pop" piece was colored with PrismaColor pencils and a bit of Gamsol.

Finally, I made this card for Freshly Made Sketches #183. I used a Stampin' Up set to make the flower, a set called Lotus Blossom that was available for free during this last Sale-A-Bration. I also used PTI's Super Stripes set to create the bands at the bottom in matching shades of blue. I like how simple it is and I think I'm stuck in Blue mode because it's been raining here for a while now... at least it's not snow!

The Big News is a Baby Boy!

A DT member has just brought a new Baby Boy into the world and I wanted to celebrate that with a Welcome Baby card to Spread the News!

I made it a shaker card too because what's the first gift every little baby gets? A Rattle of course!

Spring for Always

Good evening everyone! It's Friday night and the weekend is upon us... Woohoo!

I'm stopping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges this week...

The challenge for Make It Monday over at Papertrey Ink is #207, Double Partial Die Cutting. 

One of my favorite new stamp sets from PTI is Brushed Blooms so I had to see what I could do with it. I used both the stamp set and the matching dies along with some Sizzix circle dies to create the center focal on this card.

I love how the flowers turned out and the colors are so Spring... which leads me to the 2nd challenge this card will be entered into; CASology's Week 140: Spring.

Even the sentiments in this stamp set are beautiful, especially the font on the larger words.

Clueless in Cheyenne...

 I admit this week's CASology Challenege, Week 139: Style, had me stumped...

I don't have any "fashion" stamps, I don't have any people stamps... I don't have any shoes, handbags, sunglasses... nothing of the sort!

So I went where we all go when we need ideas... Pinterest to the rescue!

I found a tutorial on making little dresses from scalloped circle punches and though I didn't have one as large as the one used in the tutorial, I was able to work it out with what I did have.

I made three little dresses and when I lined them all up on my 4-Bar card base I had another movie flashback... seems to be happening a lot lately... this time it was the movie Clueless when the main character was going through her automated closet while getting ready for school. She said' "decisions are the worst!". Of course I didn't have a stamp that said that so I created it on my computer and printed it out to add to the card front.

Some ribbons, tiny bows punched from glitter paper and of course, some Pretty Pink Posh sequins finished off the dresses and my card!

All Things Grown With Love

I'm really starting to like watercolor painting... or I guess it's sort of painting.

I've made this card for the CASology: Week 138: Blossom Challenge and I figured what better stamp to use than Stampin' Up's Blended Bloom!

I loved this stamp as soon as I saw it! It was likely created to showcase their Blendabilities markers but sadly, those are no longer... and I already had Copics so I didn't buy too many of them anyway. 

Regardless, the stamp is awesome because you can do so much with it... Copics, Colored Pencils, or inky watercoloring like I've done here!

I started by stamping in VersaMark on watercolor paper and then heat embossing with Hero Arts white embossing powder. It was then just a matter of filling in each petal with inks and lots of water. I used Distress inks which pretty much guarantees a beautiful blending of the colors! Just remember to always let them dry completely before making on a final judgement on your project; I thought I'd killed this one when it was wet but I came back later to find a gem when it was totally dry!

I finished off the card by trimming the watercolor paper down to a narrow strip and mounting it on a white card base. I then mounted my sentiment stamp at a curve to "hug" my blossom and stamped it above and below the flower. Finally, and just because I can never leave well enough alone, I added a strip of Plum Pudding cardstock down one side and covered the whole image in Wink of Stella clear glitter pen which I really wish you could see in the picture but... not so much. I promise it's very sparkly!

Rosie Posie Goes to the Tropics!

Good Morning! Today I'm introducing a card I made for two challenges!

First up is Freshly Made Sketches #177. The sketch was nice and simple allowing lots of room for creativity and color... which led me to the second of the challenges...

CASology: Week 137: Tropical! I thought the colors fit in nicely with that theme... a mossy green, ocean blue and pink flowers... I've been to a tropical island or two... I promise they're there!

Overall I'm pleased with how the design came together and the color palette (something I seem to struggle with) came together nicely.

a-Tisket a-Tasket, a Green and Yellow Basket...

After taking a couple of days off I'm back with a card for CASology's Week 136: Basket Challenge.

I knew I had a basket stamp somewhere but it wasn't until I pulled out a container full of stamp rubber that I picked up on eBay quite a while back that I found it!

This lot of stamps came just as the rubber with all sorts of bits and pieces from I have no idea where. The image I used is only a part of a stamp. There was no identifying information but a signature by Linda Grayson so I Googled her and found that she (has/had) a line called Stamps Happen. I couldn't find any operating web sites however.

I watercolored the image with inks by Papertrey Ink and then cut out a portion and popped it up a bit with some fun foam. The base of this card is done in plain white cardstock which has been scored three times on both the top and the bottom.

Finally, you can't really see it in the photo but I colored the flowers with clear Wink of Stella and then sealed the glimmer in with some Glossy Accents over top.

I was going for an ultra-simple and clean look and I think that I was successful in that.

A CAS Two-for!

Good Morning all. It's another very cold morning here in Wyoming and not supposed to reach 20 degrees today... and more snow... 

To warm things up a bit, I've made a cute little card that I will be entering into 2 challenges!

The first is CAS on Sunday's Challenge #52 ~ Chevrons. I achieved my chevrons using an embossing folder from Stampin' Up with tone on tone ink and cardstock from PTI in Fine Linen.

Second, this piece will be entered in CASology's Week 135: Mini Challenge. My tiny little thanks stamp and die cut is from PTI's Swoosh set and done up in Spring Rain cardstock with Blueberry Sky ink.
