Lots of Cards for Lots of Challenges!

Good Sunday Morning to everyone!

Today I have 3 cards to share with you for 3 different challenges. So without further ado, here they are in no particular order :)

I made this card for CASology's Week 143 Challenge: Ombre. I have to admit though... I did cheat a little bit... I have wanted the Hero Arts Ombre ink pads since I saw them used by Jennifer McGuire a while back and then I walked into my local Hobby Lobby and there they were! At $9.99 each, I decided I would only get one until I knew they were going to be something I would use... got the rest of them yesterday evening! If you like the Ombre look... these ink pads are a must-have!

This card was made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge #209 - White on White Die Cuts with a Pop of Color. I chose to use the PTI set Boy Basics: Frog Hop. I cut the matching die several times from white cardstock and adhered them to a white card base. My "pop" piece was colored with PrismaColor pencils and a bit of Gamsol.

Finally, I made this card for Freshly Made Sketches #183. I used a Stampin' Up set to make the flower, a set called Lotus Blossom that was available for free during this last Sale-A-Bration. I also used PTI's Super Stripes set to create the bands at the bottom in matching shades of blue. I like how simple it is and I think I'm stuck in Blue mode because it's been raining here for a while now... at least it's not snow!

Congratulations, you made it to the end of this enormous post and thank you so much for visiting!

Birthday Wishes in Ombre

It's Saturday once again and I have to tell you, I'm very happy about that! What a week!

This afternoon I'm sharing the card I made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge #208: Ombre Stamping and I'm happy to report I did not cheat!

In the video tutorial a Misti stamping tool was used to repeatedly stamp the image, exactly so, until the colors and effect were just perfect. I have not purchased a Misti just yet... I want to but, haven't yet so my first thought was to ink the paper and then die cut... I didn't though!

I just played around with inking tools, makeup sponges and even my fingers until I got the stamped images I wanted and then cut them out with the matching dies.

The stamp set I used, Birthday Style by PTI, provided all of the other elements that brought this card together!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Stamper's Select White & Raspberry Fizz Cardstock (PTI)
Stamps & Dies - Birthday Style (PTI)
Inks - Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst & Sweet Blush (PTI); Versafine Onyx Black; VersaMark
Other - Black Thread, Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh

Spring for Always

Good evening everyone! It's Friday night and the weekend is upon us... Woohoo!

I'm stopping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges this week...

The challenge for Make It Monday over at Papertrey Ink is #207, Double Partial Die Cutting

One of my favorite new stamp sets from PTI is Brushed Blooms so I had to see what I could do with it. I used both the stamp set and the matching dies along with some Sizzix circle dies to create the center focal on this card.

I love how the flowers turned out and the colors are so Spring... which leads me to the 2nd challenge this card will be entered into; CASology's Week 140: Spring.

Even the sentiments in this stamp set are beautiful, especially the font on the larger words.

That's all for now, I'll be back tomorrow with more cards for more challenges but as of this moment, I'm taking the rest of the night off!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Stamper's Select White Cardstock (PTI)
Stamps - Brushed Blooms (PTI)
Dies - Brushed Blooms (PTI); Circle Stack (Sizzix)
Inks - Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise, Blushing Bride & Strawberry Slush (SU)

Hello Darling!

Good Sunday Morning!

I just wanted to take a moment today to show you the card I made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #205 Challenge.

This week the object was to use Confetti Cluster Stamping in our creations... I think I got the confetti part but I did cheat just a little.

In the video, Lizzie Jones outlined a shape and stamped inside of it... I tried that and it just looked like a mess... colorful but a total mess!

So out came the masking paper and a circle die to make my confetti area and this turned out way better... trust me!

I used PTI'd Confetti Garland Borders stamp set along with the new and lovely Swoosh set with the matching dies to create my cluster image and sentiment. It was looking really bare though so I broke out the heart from the same set and did more "confetti" in Soft Stone so you can see it but they don't detract from the main design. What resulted is a fun, colorful, nearly one layer card that I'm going to send to a good friend of mine in Charleston... I think she'll really like it!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Stamps & Dies - Confetti Garland Borders & Swoosh (PTI)
Inks - Soft Stone, Spring Rain, Lavender Moon, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Winter Wisteria, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Limeade Ice, & Raspberry Fizz (PTI); Versafine Onyx Black

The Sweet Life

I have a new love in my life... The Sweet Life stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink! Just look at those flowers... beautiful!

Today's card was created for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #204: Watercolor Smooshing.

If you have no idea of what I speak, here's a video that'll show you how it's done... or one of the ways it can be done as there are a bunch. Regardless of the method you choose, it's fun and the results are always a lovely surprise!

I did my "Smooshing" in yellows and oranges at opposite corners from the flower images so that I would have a nice little frame for my sentiment, also from The Sweet Life set.

I am really thrilled with how this card turned out... I love the colors and I LOVE this stamp set!

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI's Stamper's Select White & Hibiscus Burst, Watercolor Paper
"Smoosh" Inks - Melon Berry, Summer Sunrise & Harvest Gold (PTI)
Stamping Inks - Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss & New Leaf (PTI), Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps & Dies - Papertrey Ink The Sweet Life

Find Joy in the Art of It

I admit it... I was terrified to make this card...

Introducing my adaptation of this week's Make It Monday Challenge by Papertrey Ink - #203: Doodling With Stamps.

A while back, Papertrey had an exclusive stamp set that you could get free with an order of $100 or more... this is that stamp set; Filled With Joy.

I stamped out the flowers and leaves in several different colors; Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores & Simply Chartreuse.

I then took a water brush to them. I didn't actually do a whole lot more than just get them wet and let them dry but they turned out so pretty!

And then came the very scary part... I was to take a black pen to my beautiful flowers and "doodle" on them! ~ As it happens, it wasn't all that traumatic and once I got into it I even did more than just lines... there are some dots in there, little stars, circles and even tiny hearts!

By the time I stopped and looked at the overall effect I was quite pleased with myself!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Watercolor Paper, Hawaiian Shores by PTI
Ink -  Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores & Simply Chartreuse by PTI; Black Staz-On

Make It Monday #202: Anchoring With Border And Banner Dies

Good morning from snowy and cold Wyoming! It's going to be a balmy 15 degrees today... Brrr!

As you may have noticed, I'm a devoted fan of Papertrey Ink.
I buy lots of their supplies and stamps sets and I also take part in their weekly challenges called Make It Monday.

This week's challenge was to use snippets of border and/or banner dies to anchor a central die cut shape.

At first, I had no idea how I was going to answer the call but as I cut things out and threw them on top of each other, a design started to take shape!

I'm not sure what I was going for but I really like that it became a happy celebration of colors and textures with different vellum cuts and stacked sequins ~ Perfect to wish a special someone a very festive Birthday!

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI Cardstocks in Clssic Kraft, New Leaf & Raspberry Fizz, Patterned paper from the Funky Town pack, Patterned and Silver Pearl Vellum from The Paper Studio
Ink - PTI Classic Kraft
Dies - PTI Loop de Loop II and Happy Hexagons Cover Plate
Stamps - PTI Borders and Corners Mini Set
Other - Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up, Heart Punch and Baker's Twine by The Paper Studio, Let's Polka Sequin mix by Lawn Fawn
